Sweden’s first cultural sound zone was established in Malmö in 2021.
Five years later — what happened?
Who makes noise? who silences them? Who keeps quiet? who listens?
What does the "Kulturljudzon" sound like?
Are you a creator, artist, educator or activist connected to the Kulturljudzon?
Join us for the annual assembly of Sonic Citizens. The theme for 2026 is creating together and building community.
Apply below, contact us at info@kulturljudzon.se or visit our open house, 2–6 pm on the last Tuesday of each month, above Crime City Rollers at Kopparbergsgatan 8.
Founded in 2019, NGBG works for inclusive and sustainable urban development and aims to give the alternative cultural life in the neighbourhood a voice and a platform. All members have voting rights and equal access to our facilities, networks, archives and resources.
In addition to Sonic Citizens events and this guide to the Kulturljudzon, NGBG also participates in the legendary NGBG Gatufest which we founded alongside the city of Malmö in 2016 we also take part in the European research projects Alterplaces and Listen. When circumstances allow, we organise events, radio shows, exhibitions, performances, conversations, recordings and walks. Become a member and express yourself!
